I didn't think I'd fall for a scam but since I did, I wanted to warn others about this! I saw an ad on social media from Renu Health (buyrenuhealth.com) for some CBD oil that they claimed had attracted Michael J Fox to use and/or invest in to help with Parkinson's symptoms. Generally I would just react with a "yeah, right" to that type of claim & ignore it, but for some reason the "free trial" attracted me so I ordered what I thought were free samples of CBD oil & CBD capsules, requiring me to pay only for shipping & handling for a total of less than $10. The items were shipped in a small cardboard box without any insulation, & they sat in our mailbox all afternoon on a 90F day. The company did not contact me to confirm whether I received and tried the products and/or what I thought about them. There were no instructions for taking the oil but I've had CBD oil from other companies in the past so I took 1/2 serving (0.5 ml) of the oil at bedtime on 3 nights & slept well; but on the 4th night, I didn't sleep well and haven't taken it since. There were no instructions for the capsules either & I've not taken CBD capsules before so I didn't try them.
Last week our credit card company contacted me to let me know that they denied payment for a $94.87 from DZ3 Health Products because of possible fraud. When I googled them, I found they had many complaints with the Better Business Bureau (in Tampa, FL) for tricking people into ordering free samples/trials and then later charging the customer for $94 because the "terms & conditions" that customers "agree to" requires the customer to return the "free" product at their own expense within a short timeframe or else the company would enroll the customer in a subscription & charge them this outrageous fee! They definitely do not make this obvious when ordering the samples, nor do they follow up with the customer during the short trial timeframe, so obviously this is a scam to get people to pay a lot of money for something that they didn't know they'd signed up for. I called DZ3 & told them that I would not be paying that charge. They told me that I would have to send the samples back at my own expense, and I said I don't have to do anything because this was a scam and my credit card company was on to them and so was I! Eventually they agreed to cancel my charge & close my account, but then as a precaution we also closed that credit card account as recommended by Chase. I'm thankful that Chase declined payment for that charge because based on the BBB complaints, many others had to dispute their charge instead of having it denied up front. Sorry for the long post but it was a lesson to me to be more careful, even when an offer requires payment for only shipping & handling - there is often a catch! And since the social media ad was targeting people with Parkinson's, I wanted you all to be aware of this scam if you read a similar ad from Renu Health!
