Trained dogs for people with PD, not a guild dog

Dogs with Parkinson's- I lost my soul dog a year ago and I really want another as an emotional support animal. However I am not up for a lot of training or a dog that wakes me early - as post surgery I usually need 10 hours of sleep a night. I don't need a fully trained guide dog just one that can jive with my health, can be left alone when I work. I now walk an hour a day. I'm a veterinarian but I don't know of a resource where they train dogs for people with disabilities that are not guide dogs. Any thoughts? I want a dog I can lift if needed so under 40lbs. I test drove two dogs last year - one turned out to be semi-feral which was complete disaster and the other was great but peed in the house when left alone for over an hour and got up at 5am every morning .

I'm sorry for your loss. My dog is my best buddy and i worry how i will cope when he gone. (PD mmaking me stress over something not happening)I think its the intelligence of dog as mine is aware if i not good, he wiil come n sleep at my feet till i ready to get up. He doesn't leave when we out. He's biggish 37 kilo and that has helped when i ve lent in him. My other dog is little and will only ever be a dog- she dosent have the empathy Eriik has.

Get a working dog breed they generally clever.

Good luck looking for your new best friend. Nothing like a gd dog
