After the results published in 2020, i thought a next phase trial would commence but I can’t find anything. Is there a current trial taking place for Ambroxol?

Ambroxol : is there currently a trial?
I don't think so. These things are desperately slow. I was diagnosed in March 2018 and participated, by accident , in a UCL webinar for repurposed drugs. A phase 2 trial of Exanatide finished in august 2017, and a reappraisal of the results made the prospects for a phase 3 trial really exciting. There was no lack of enthusiasm at UCL. But funding is hard. The phase 3 trial finally launched in January 2020 with a target population of 200. As of November 2020 it had recruited 30. Original target completion was 2023.
It's frustrating...
I’m new at this. Please tell me what UCL is?
And how can we directly support the funding? There must be a way for our dollars to directly go to the funding of trials we find most promising.
UCL is university college London, a research centre for Parkinsons in the UK linked to the cure Parkinson's trust, the uk charity who created this site. They are focused on drug repurposing. This video explains why
Thank you!
No, but realistically I think they need a new formulation to make it feasible. The phase2 participants were taking a ridiculous amount of tablets per day
Simon from science of Parkinson’s alluded to that at the end of his post on it.
