Why does this not surprise you? If you have people with chronic illness that requires them to basically have a monthly subscription to muchly needed medication such as we do, you will make a fortune, how do you think the term big pharma came into existence?
You're kidding, right? You have got to stop ceding people your sacredly valuable worshipful trust, or trusting worship, whichever it is, too precious to waste thus, simply because they exist and know how to sell. This is planet Earth, remember? Everybody sells.
Ever hear the saying: When the rabbit screams, the fox comes a-running...but not to help.
You think we somehow don't share the same DNA with that fox? I wish where ever you are, we could all be there, sure would be nice. But it would only be good if everyone was. Did you leave us to ourselves? That's one less nice one to fight the fight.
Here's another example of one type person you find so surprising, but I find not to be particularly atypical. Maybe you can take a crack at the "how" you were asking. Usually I ask "why," but really I can't see any meaningful difference from "how." :

Well said Marion. A valuable insight about the world we live in.
As to the "pricey" Bredesen protocol, it isn't pricey because you can do it by yourself, it can work if you adhere to it over time, and it has nothing to do with big pharma. He is all about slowing the decline; not curing ALZ.
You can buy his book for less than $17. The End of Alzheimer's: The First Program to Prevent and Reverse Cognitive Decline (misleading title). It needed a good editor, but so what. And some of his ideas (keto) I don't necessarily agree with, but so what..
Dr. Hellmuth (the doctor quoted in the article) works for Weill who is a competitor of Bredesen, so she comes with an agenda. I have to laugh when she slams his case studies, his lack of clinical trial methodologies, and use of non-per reviewed journals.. Criticisms like that are a big no-no on HU.

There’s no shortage of people happy to take well paid employment in the tobacco, gambling and statin industries, to name just a few $B predators!
You cant trust the alternative health people these days, as bad as big pharma.
