In the last 4 days, husband is having increased tremors, very slow movements and brain fog. He has recently started on B12 supplement. I think this isolation (30 days now) could also be causing some problems. Not sure what to do. Any thoughts?
Sudden increase in symptoms: In the last... - Cure Parkinson's
Sudden increase in symptoms
If he has been more sedentary, that may be the major cause. Try to move around with him and go out for a walk (being careful to stay away from others). Some sunshine could help too. Hope he gets better.
Sorry to hear about your husband's sudden worsening PD symptoms.
From my own personal experience with B vitamins they seem to have a negative impact with my medication in terms of increasing tremor, wearing off symptoms and affecting length of on time. The only way to find out is if he stops taking B12 for a couple of days. ( does he leave the two-hour gap between taking medication and B12?)
If symptoms persist you could check to see if he has a UTI which would impact his Parkinson's symptoms.
Hope this is helpful and that your husband feels better very soon.
I know I went a week not going out I found my symptoms worsening slightly having pd as I am sure you are aware means you have to keep moving or seize up is move it or lose it as the pd nurse once told me a walk somewhere quiet would help all the best
My wife has PD and has good and bad days. The medication she was taking made things worse. The routine 100 she is taking has helped to make her more stable she suffers from movement problems walking and balance. We developed this procedure by learning from research that helps. I can forward you a copy if you are interested. Tremors have been treated by an advanced Mir-FUS treatment check google. Keep calm for sure there is help out there you can find it.
I found this link it looks very informative. I have researched this treatment and tried to see if it would help my wife but at the time it was only be used for tremor
Possibly the increased anxiety caused by the virus. Especially if exercise has been reduced too. Anxiety makes my husband worse. Try to limit exposure to news And not to dwell on things, and try to walk if possible, and find something funny to watch, or fun to do if possible.
Hi Mjm
I find that stress causes sudden changes in the level of my symptoms. You mention the isolation, which might well be the cause of the stress. Try to get to the bottom of this before doing anything else.
I am sure you are right ... this Covid virus isolation and constant news about it and not going to his twice a week exercise class, meeting friends for a breakfast or lunch etc is a big part of it. We are doing our own exercising and walking at home, but it’s just not the same. I do have one question though from another reply I received. Is there a concern about taking B1 or B12 at the same time as C/L? It was said that there should be a 2 hour wait before taking B vitamins. I have never read anything about that ....
Thank you for taking the time to reply and your concern. This group is a wonderful support to me!
I have a question...does everyone think that when the stress is reduced, regular exercise returns, etc. that the symptoms will be reduced back to the pre-covid19 epidemic? I took a leap forward, too.
Dump the B12 and see if he improves. If he does don't take it . If he does not improve inform his doctor and follow his advice not the advice of people here. Dont give up i am 14 years PD and doing great. I just stared using Selegiline ( one 5 mg tablet a day ) and it reduced by C/L by 5 pills a day. I was taking C/L every 2.5 hours 24/7 now i take 3 25/100 every 4 hours 5 times a day 4 am 8am noon 4pm and 8pm.
I found the thiamine hcl cleared my brain fog. I was able to work with Dr. C before his illness to find my ideal dose which turned out to be about a tablespoon once a day. A higher dose gives me a headache and tremors.
