Good Mucuna Source in Canada?

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has a good Mucuna Source in Canada? I am currently getting it from a local herbal store for my dad but am trying to find something more affordable, and something my parents can just order online. Banyan Botanicals doesn't ship to Canada, and shipping from Barlowe's is really expensive! Thanks!

Walmart is a good source for economy, quality and free shipping, but I don't remember whether they ship to Canada or not.

Did you ever find a good source of mucuna for us Canadians? I’m also thinking about trying it and I live in BC.

not yet :(

i found an herb store here in toronto called herbie's herbs. its the only store i could find that sells the raw bean powder. its no name. they sell herbs in bulk. it might be worth calling them to see who their supplier is to see if they supply to bc?

the other stores only carry the organic traditions brand but it really doesnt work. i cant find the extract either. NOW has a dopa mucuna 15% extract that we are going to try. a visiting friend is bringing it in from the us for us to try, but amazon does ship it to canada for a $7 fee.

amazon.com/NOW-Supplements-...

if it works, i am going to see if one of my local health food stores that carries NOW will bring it in for us.

barlowe's also ships to canada for a fee.

at the moment my dad is taking 1.5 100/25 sinemet with 25ml of the powder and its working way better than when he was on 2.5 sinemet. he was freezing like crazy between sinement doses, which he had to take every 2.5 hours!! now he is back to dosing every 3 hours with barely any freezing. mainly he is trying to figure out his food schedule. with every 3 hours of sinement/mucuna, eating has to be well-planned.

we are working on gradually reducing his sinemet intake even more. so far, he has less dyskensias, better bowel movements and no more nightmares.

its been 12 years, so he is doing alright, all things considered. best of luck, let me know how it goes!

Ultimately our goal is to get him off sinemet and onto some version of the hinz protocol... You can find lots of info on this site about it. Dopa Boost, which I also can't find in Canada, seems to be an easy, good start. It has a blend of mucuna extract with necessary amino acids. But it's not recommended to take 5htp while still on carbidopa.

We are also going to start him on constanti's high dose thiamine protocol (also lots of info on this site on it... Can share links when back on computer)

Hi Oceanflow! How is your mucuna explorations? Did you ever find a source? We have extra Barlowe's 40% extract that we don't need. Though it works for a lot of other people, it doesn't for my dad!

I’ve decided to stick with Sinemet for now but thanks for inquiring!

iHerb ships supplements around the world, not sure about their shipping fees to Canada though.

If you want to check it out go to iHerb.com
