Worth the read though...

Extract :

Through cell-to-cell interaction, stimulating the rats’ cholinergic neurons also stimulated their dopaminergic neurons. This seemed to restore the dopamine-producing function in the dopaminergic neurons.

As a result of this, the rats made a complete recovery, including movement restoration and a reversal of postural impairment.

(They did not play the piano, but that was close)

I find this incredibly interesting, thanks for posting again. I need to get some kind of electronic filing system going here as I remember this post but don't think I could have found it again as quickly as you did! 😊

But, can you imagine how it feels to be a rat who would not otherwise get Parkinson's?

I wonder what they're saying to each other.

"Where's Herbie?" "They took him away to give him Parkinson's -- to show they can't cure it. Poor guy." "Yeah, that's a bad break. When they took me away, they gave me the flu."

They claim dopaminergic neuros die, yet through cell to cell interaction, they are restored back to life???

I take this to mean restored from living but nonfunctional to functional status.

Living but not functional means "dead" to me, Park_Bear. :)
