I have read on this forum and other sites online that very hard exercises is beneficial for PD.But this was not the case for me,instead I ended up at my pry MD's office three days ago,now treating migraine as a comorbidity.Has any pwp experienced migraine headaches.I did mostly cardios on the elliptical, bicycle and treadmill, for 15,10,and 5mins respectively, with 5mins rest at intervals.
I DEVELOPED SEVERE MIGRAINE HEADACHES AFT... - Cure Parkinson's
I DEVELOPED SEVERE MIGRAINE HEADACHES AFTER STRENUOUS EXERCISES FOR PD.HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE?
No. However, I've lived with 15 - 18 migraine days per month for years / decades...When I developed PD symptoms I went to see a neurologist. This neurologist's office also perform sleep studies. I asked what is a sleep study? I agreed to a study. Turns out, I have sleep apnea - I breathe shallowly - He recommended a CPAP last February, 2019. This study was to determine if I have sleep apnea, no mention of migraines.....but....I have been averaging about 1 migraine day a month. I'd ask your primary care doc about a sleep study.... My migraines were / are incredibly nasty. Not saying it will solve for you, but it might....One less med to take suits me just fine. Plus, I do sleep better...with an octopus strapped to my head...kidding....my CPAP is not intrusive at all....my bride sleeps better too, not much noise coming from my side of our bed....
Hi TR8Man.
You are damn right, the lack of sleep, not eating at the right time, have both been mentioned as triggers of Migraine headaches,on some websites.I must have had mild forms of Migraine headaches several times in my teenage years not knowing it was migraine, because it usually go away without treatment at that time. With the Migraine medication given to me by my Pry Md,I seem to be sleeping better.I am praying the Migraine goes away and never come back.I have my plates full already with PD.
Thanks for kind support.
Do you have extremely high blood pressure immediately after exercise?
Hello! I have read that Oxygen helps with Migraines! Janet127
I haven't experienced this but a google search shows that exercise can induce migraines in some people
My brother suffers from migraines every time his weight and blood pressure go up beyond a certain level. When he gets moving (exercise, consistent not strenuous) and serious about eating habits and drops the weight down below the noted level, they go away. Who knew moderation could be helpful?
Hi MarionP.
You are right, moderation is my watchword now. I probably did too much exercises for the first time and I got migraine in return. I got too excited in trying to slow down PD progression. I am taking more time in researching how much exercise one really needs to slow down PD progression. Thanks for your input.
