Abdominal wall dystonia is also known as Belly Dancer’s dyskinesia is uncontrollable and often painful muscle contractions in the abdomen. Symptoms vary but usually consist of writhing movements and contractions of the abdominal muscles. These movements can not be voluntarily suppressed. Abdomen dystonia is believed to be caused by incorrect messages from the brain to the muscles. It is a neurological movement disorder and should be referred to a neurologist specialising in movement disorders.

Suggest you get in touch with the Dystonia Society (of UK)

dystonia.org.uk/

The Dystonia Society was established in 1983 by a small group of people affected by dystonia, and the aims and mission of those original founders are the core of our work today.

Our mission is a world without dystonia

To achieve this mission:

We aim to support and advocate for people living with the impact of dystonia to ensure they experience the best quality of life for all of their life whilst we drive forward towards critically needed treatments and ultimately a cure.

I got in touch with them and they could not tell me anybody who has dealt with this type of dystonia before. I don't know what to do. Botox shots did not work. I'm now prescribed TRIHEXPHENIDYL HYDROCHLORIDE 1 PILL 3 TIMES PER DAY and CLONAZEPAM 1MG 1 PILL twice per day. These still do not help. I don't know what to do next.
