If it sounds like a 'Put-on' and it looks like a 'Put-on' then it must be a 'Put-on'.

I enjoyed watching that example of how anybody can fool everybody without even being real. But can anyone fake having Pd when being examined by four top notch neurologists and even a sniffer dog?

Or if a person says he/she had 4 neuros and a dog diagnose them how do you know it is true and not a fake claim

Do you think I would sink to that level?

Of course there is a mental part to PD. It would be a brave (or uninformed) person to deny this. The placebo effect is proof.

i have been looking for a long time and i have found many, many sites and MDs that state there are mental disorders which are caused by parkinsons but not that mental disorders cause pd. i tried your search suggestion and it is just more of the same... mental disorders are caused by parkinsons. that is not what i am looking for. if you have actual information that show studies or beliefs that mental disorders can CAUSE pd i would really like to see them. the closest i have come is one site...pdrecovery.com.

Hilarious video. Isn’t it tragic.

I think watching my husband this it is a chicken and egg situation. This is my theory of everything, not sure how right it is. Something, maybe gene defects, poisons, stress, antibiotics causing gut dysbiosis has led to an imbalance of neurotransmitters for some people. This could be different for everyone. For some people is could be an actual damage to brain cells caused by injury. Or for others it might be overstressing the body with too much exercise for example without providing enough nutrients to repair it.

Lack of dopamine causes lack of motivation and this means a person gradually, maybe over many years, begins to stop trying new things, or doing things they used to do as it requires too much energy to be bothered. Things that are least enjoyable require the most motivation so they are the first to go. Eg pushing yourself to try to use a new appliance, learn a new skill.

Eg my husband has always felt inadequate in the home handyman and cooking department and has never been very dexterous. He never enjoyed art or craft and felt he wasn’t good at it. It is his fine motor skills that have been first to go as he is refusing to use them more and more. I think to fix his fine motor skills he will need to retrain his brain to control his hands. This is a catch 22 situation as lack of motivation means he can’t be bothered and won’t do exercises and activities that may help him.

This is where the mental side comes in. If he were mentally determined he may be able to regain use of his hands again like a stroke patient or accident victim sometimes does. But the chemical imbalance means he isn’t motivated to try even when I try to encourage, coerce, or even bully or try tough love.

I think this is why John peppers walking works for him. He has been able to overcome the apathy to retrain his brain. Perhaps it works for him but not others because of his unique brain physiology. And he had enjoyed physical activity before he became ill so is able to tell his brain to make his legs move.

Basically I think it might often be a case of use it or lose it. Many symptom are also probably caused by medication, and medicating the side effects of medication....... and on it goes. Initial symptoms may be caused by medication given as a child destroying gut bacteria eg steroids for allergies, and antibiotics. As gut bacteria do a lot of the digesting of our food I think a lot of people are being starved of nutrients to perform the body’s many enzyme reactions. That’s where supplements are necessary as if you don’t have a healthy microbiome you can eat healthy food and still be starving for nutrients if you can’t digest it.

Also modern food production methods do not replace nutrients in the soil so even healthy foods are depleted of minerals. And the modern American diet is full of man made chemicals posing as food, and any real food often has had all its nutrients and fibre stripped away or loads of sugar added to it which feeds bacteria, yeasts and fungi in our bodies and cause inflammation.

I think a good approach would be changing diet to eliminate any food sensitivities, and to make sure every mouthful has maximum nutrition, ensuring any poisons are eliminated (eat organic and non GMO food), follow the gbombs diet (bluezones.com/2018/03/gbomb..., eliminate stress but try and overcome the urge to avoid new or unenjoyable tasks that push yourself ie avoid procrastination. Practice Hormesis is (m.youtube.com/watch?v=mkDxX... which is stressing your body regularly to help it become more resilient (includes things like sauna, cold showers, eating dietary photochemical eg like curcumin, flavonoids etc,) exercise, intermittent fasting etc. basically this covers a lot of the “cures” found on this site.)

Adding some synthetic dopamine to overcome apathy may be helpful to get some motivation to do all of the above.

So in summary it’s a bit mental, a bit chemical, a bit physical!

I think you’re very right on with your thoughts! Use it or lose it. I do know that emotional stress increases my tremors Significantly. For sure there is a mind-body connection.
