I have found that most days I have a feeling of collapse it feels a bit like my body wants to slump to the floor. This week as i approached table with hands full and with the dog on the floor my body just collopsed onto table.
Is this familiar to anyone else?

Yes, that's exactly what happens to me. I lean forward, and then, for some reason, my body just wants to collapse and fall forward. I feel so out of control, when that happens.
Yes, my husband has had that feeling for several years. It's a symptom that's always glossed over by the neurologist. It's always worse when the sinemet is wearing off. He has extreme weakness in his legs then which makes it difficult to rise from a chair, and causes him to 'walk like a monkey' as he describes it.
Yeah, I have the same problem. I try to tell my neurologist, and he looks at me incredulously, like, maybe he thinks I'm exaggerating a bit. The problem is, I'm not exaggerating! So, yes, I feel that there is some "glossing over", from him, when I complain about some symptoms and problems. It can be disconcerting, because, before I got PD, I was tough on myself and didn't give in to sickness or complaining much to physician's. With PD, however, it's a different game!
I’m experiencing extreme weakness also. The only thing I have to offer and advise your husband to do his hamstring stretching. Stretching the hamstrings helps me to stand up a little straighter.
i do that when my sine met is wearing off. Too weak to hardly move. I sometimes take a half 25/100 an hour or so before my next dose. That really helps.
I do know that my husband is weaker, harder to rise from chair, as Sinemet wears off in the eve. He takes his med. before bed. He has never said if he feels he is going to collapse like that. Don't know if he'd admit it because he had 2 falling spells before he stopped taking Seligeline. I saw that they should't be taken together, nor Resegiline. I wonder if he should divide his 2 Senimet tablets between morn. and eve. He falls asleep well so might make him droopy during the day. He has a friend to talk to who was dx before he was who takes many more meds and goes to exercise class but doesn't feel he's improving. We wonder if it's too many meds. I take several for Dep.,Fibro., BP, Diabetes, but none for Epstein Barr Virus which causes fatigue so I've been taking Provigil to conteract fatigue. Dr. first said just rest and no stress, but worrying about hubby's PD, and other responsibilities makes that impossible. We're in mid 70's.. I wonder if he could take Provigil, 1/2 tab, too. Had plans to travel a bit, by car but don't feel up to it anymore, and he has double vision in one eye after cataracks off of both. Drs say it's a nerve problem in eye muscle. It may resolve itself. We don't always get to the PD support meetings which do help I think. Our biggest problem is motivation. Good luck to all, M.A. in USA
Thank you everyone for the comments. The best way to describe it as if i were a puppet on string and the string gets cut- a collapse rather than fall. I see neuro next week and hopefuly get some PD meds. Dr C recommends with the B1 as they work together.
Perhaps some clues: read some scientific reviews about orthostatic hypotension and postprandial hypotension. Also, consider the possibility of aquired pathology among one or more discs or vertebrae.

Hi. The loss of consciousness episode you described is very similar to what my daughter has been experiencing for about a year. She has advanced PD. So far none of the specialists here in Maine or at Boston Medical Center can identify a cause. Her blood pressure is fairly stable, thanks to medications. An EEG showed no evidence of seizure activity. She has had a slew of tests from a variety of specialists - including three movement disorder specialists. No clear understanding of the cause.
When she has an episode it appears that she is falling asleep. She can be sitting, standing or lying down. After it is over she has no recall of the event. These events can occur as much as a few times/day. She might be suffering from a combination of sudden sleep attacks, excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS), and/or fatigue. Further testing will involve both sleep and nap testing.
Hi, I've had a few loss of balance episodes in the last year. Dx two years ago,on Sinemet 12.5/50 ( since November a generic form as SINEMET not available ). They usually happen in poorly lit areas , but New Year we were at a party (I wasn't drunk !!!) and I was dancing (first time since dx) when I lost my balance. I just felt myself falling backwards, couldn't stop myself, no control. I had my hands in front of me, landing on my backside, and banging my head on a table,(small cut to back of head). The room was brightly lit, so darkness wasn't a factor. Don't know if this is progression of PD or non effective meds. I have an appt. with hospital in 4 weeks so will tell neurologist then.
