Wondering if someone may be able to help. I saw a post here a couple of weeks ago where somebody said they were initially a sceptic with regard to Reiki, etc but someone they knew suggested he/she try it which they did with good results.

Anyone know who posted that? I can't seem to find it (it may have even been a reply to someone else's post).

Also, if it was you who posted, can you please remind me of the benefits you experienced?

Thanks so much 😊

I tried Reiki years ago, but truthfully did not have the time to fully explore. I've heard positive things about it, and Karl Robb, an author and much heard voice in the PD community, swears by it. He was diagnosed at age 19 and has had PD for over 30 years.

His website pdpatient.wordpress.com/about/ There's a link to his blog there as well, I'm sure you can find his writings on Reiki

"The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

In Chinese the corresponding word is Qi also spelled Chi. Chigong is the practice of cultivating that energy. It has been helpful for me: healthunlocked.com/parkinso...

A good Reiki practitioner will offer you an hour or so of complete rest by holding you in a safe space, uninterrupted and away from it all. You might feel deeply relaxed (have to trust the person and like them and find them credible) and even fall asleep. The experience is one of unconditional love - this means you won't be talked at or talked to, judged or urged to be anything or anyone to anybody. Just being you, completely you, in peace - this is the gift you give yourself when you book a session. What is happening in the background - encouraging the body's natural ability to heal itself - doesn't need to be spoken, explained or justified during the session; this is your time for you. A chatty practitioner is taking from you; a quiet one is Giving you what you need. The effects of a session vary - so in curiosity you might notice detox symptoms, gentle tiredness, then renewed energy. Drink water regularly, and be kind to yourself for receiving Reiki "universal energy". Enjoy!
