Well I guess we need to cut back on some things now that the insanely wealthy got their tax break.

I recommend a bit more skepticism when getting/sharing “news” from from such dubious sources.

Looks like it is true. The Trump administration is thinking about ending funding.

Despite the emergence of increasingly more viable 'pluripotent' alternatives, fetal tissue research remains completely legal and will undoubtedly continue whenever/wherever practical. Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) "has initiated a comprehensive review of all research involving fetal tissue to ensure consistency with statutes and regulations governing such research."

According to the more balanced of the 2 news sources cited (Politico), "HHS leadership is inviting a select group of experts from diverse backgrounds to obtain their individual views on the use of fetal tissue in biomedical research and development”.

It's hard to make sense of the mental gymnastics that 'SourcePolitics' applies in order to concoct the caption/claim: "Trump Considering Canceling $100 Million In Parkinson's And Alzheimer's Research" based on various news releases on the matter (try producing any evidence of "$100 Million in Parkinson's and Alzheimer's Research" being specifically targeted by Trump).

Certainly among the more compliant, unquestioning minds, such drivel serves well to bolster and perpetuate the specter of Trump as a diabolical miscreant set on an evil mission of death and destruction to all but a select Aryan inner circle. Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on one's own inclinations) it's simply more distortion of fact (aka 'fake news').

Resigned to the fact that there will always be two opposing poles to the underlying issue here (pro-life vs pro-choice), it's important that one always strive to avoid the ignominious fate of the lowly, wilful dupe. Find reliable sources from which to form your own opinion.

Wow. It sure took you a lot of words to say my original post was accurate 😂

Only in the mind of the willful dupe (still awating evidence of “$100 million in PD/Alz research” supposedly targeted by Trump). Crickets?

No sense in debating with an ideologue. Bye.👋

This has the ring of fake news. At the very least grossly exaggerated.

Why don’t Trump supporters post actual information rather than just labeling anything they don’t like as “fake news”?

Just asking?

In other words, in fitz-world it's up to the accused to prove a negative(?). I'll accept that challenge once you prove that you no longer beat your wife.

😂 You were the busybody who challenged the info that I posted with nothing. What a joke!

On other words, the wife-beating continues(?).

I am not going to waste my time debating an ideologue. There have been three articles posted and that should be enough for a rational person to conclude that the review announced by the Department of Health and Human Services is real. But you claim it isn’t . A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

PDConscience profile image
PDConscience in reply todanfitz

If you struggle just a bit harder to grasp the point made from the beginning, you might come to realize (no guarantees) that the ongoing "review" was never in question. I questioned the portrayal of the referred review as the impending cancellation (by a dastardly Trump) of "$100 million in Parkinson's and Alzheimer's Research" by your preferred 'Arbiters of Truth'. Resigning one's self to the role of a witless shill can prove a dreary existence. I'd recommend sticking to issues with which you have first-hand knowledge (like PD).

danfitz in reply toPDConscience

If you were not such an arrogant, pompous sphincter muscle you would realize that the only reason I posted the article was to give people here a “heads up” about the review.

This somehow triggered a paranoid reaction in you where you challenged the article because you didn’t like the tone of the article. I didn’t post the article because I liked the tone or for any reason other than to let people here know that the review was going on.

I cannot see how that is objectionable to a rational person. But it is clear that you are not that person. You appear to be an unhappy, delusional prick who greatly overestimates their intelligence.

Fascinating... do you really consider your alarming declaration "Parkinson's Funds in Jeopardy", linked to a rabid-leftist portrayal of the entire, thus-far non-eventful 'compliance and procedures' review as "Trump Considering Canceling $100 Million In Parkinson's And Alzheimer's Research", to be giving people a useful "heads up"?

Then, doubling down on the fervor when replying to my friendly word of caution (ref above): "Looks like it is true. The Trump administration is thinking about ending [PD/Alz] funding"?!?

More objective readers may view this more accurately as yet another compliant shill numbly performing his/her duties.

Yes. Fetal cell research funds are in jeopardy and I did post the articles to give people here a heads up.

BUT, I have something much more interesting to report. Two people have PM’d me to apologize for you. One said I should overlook your arrogance and condescending replies because he felt you do make a contribution. The other was not nearly so generous. Fascinating.

The media is so biased and I don't believe none of it. It is Trump fault for everything. I think the politics should stay away of this place otherwise we will end up in two groups: pro-caravan and anti-caravan.

Nowadays, one doesn’t know what news to believe! Until we see that funds are actually cut, or there is an official notice from the White House, regarding cutting research funds for Parkinson’s/ Neuro-degeneration research, this could be misconstrued to be labeled as fake news, real news, who knows? I will worry about it if and when it happens!
