I am not sure if this has come up on this forum but it was posted on some of the others months ago. The effects of EMF from wifi, phones etc. Are we so busy looking at chemicals we aren’t considering electrical forces?

I definitely notice my husband is worse after a day sitting in front of the PC. Not sure if it is the reduced exercise or increased exposure to wifi.

I suspect it is the long sitting without exercise because I experience the same and I am in a low EMF environment - no Wi-Fi, Internet via cable.

That said, the adverse effects of EMFs are very unappreciated. I am acquainted with someone with EMF sensitivity can feel it when her laptop Wi-Fi is turned on.

You can protect yourself and your home from this dangerous radiation with transformers that send out a signal which neutralises the harmful signals from chordless phones, mobiles, remotes, wi-fi etc. Mine is from a German firm called Bauer biotec

Thanks. I will look into it. It has sent me off on another round of research and panicking about the danger in this world. My kids say I am going crazy!

I have had the body harmoniser tested on a vegatest device, a bit like muscle testing. My body liked it! It had an effect up to one metre from me. We could measure the effect precisely. I have protective stickers on our phones and a transformer by the wifi! Ultimately though, it gives me peace of mind. I haven't mentioned it much to the children. Younger people are blissfully unaware of the danger of EMF.

I am an electrical engineer spent my career working with electromagnetic fields. This kind of equipment will do nothing to shield you from EMFs. At best it could be emitting some kind of EMF that swamps the others. If you feel like it helps you that is good, but the only way to actually shield EMFs are metal screens and boxes.

Thanks for the link. This looks nice in their pretty picture, but in reality, it will not work. Actual EMFs impinging on the human body comprise a wide variety of frequencies, amplitudes, and phases that are all constantly varying. There is no way to cancel these out by adding yet additional EMF energy. The only ways to cancel EMFs are to shield the source, the receiver, to not emit them in the first place, or to avoid them.

Hi park_bear. Do you using a laptop could affect PD patients who have had Deep Brain Stimulation?

For most people Wi-Fi should not be a problem. That said, nobody should be holding a cell phone next to their face - cell phone transmissions are extremely powerful.

What is the best way to limit exposure to radiation? Our house has 5 people, all with cellphone, 4 laptops, 3 iPads, PlayStation with wifi connection. When I connect to wifi on my iPad I can see the networks for 8 neighbours as well as our own. I start to feel like I am being bombarded by radiation but how can it be limited?

Your biggest exposure is holding a cell phone up to your ear. That is something you can do something about. As to the rest of it, if you are not bothered by it is probably no need to do anything. If you are intent on reducing these exposures you could put woven metallic shielding fabrics on the walls around your bed but it would not be cheap, or move out to the countryside.

Ok, thanks. I don’t think we will be moving and mesh sounds difficult. Do you think wifi is safe then?

No, I am not going to pronounce it as safe. Research results are mixed. Here are links to a few studies pro and con:

Not to minimize the effects of EMF’s, because I believe they’re real, but I recently got myself a standing desk and it has transformed my work life. I never sit in front of a computer any more. I stand on a balance board which exercises calf and thigh muscles, move to music, it’s great. My only comment the day I set it up was “why didn’t I do this sooner”. BTY thanks for the link to Bauer Biotech, we’re looking into it.
