Has someone been diagnosed of musculocutaneous nerve entrapment by corachobrachialis muscle?

Musculocutaneous nerve is a primary nerve from the brachial plexus that innervates the biceps and skin of the forearm. Some people have a anomaly where the nerve passes through the coracobrachialis muscle. If the muscle deteriorates it puts pressure on the nerve producing entrapment. This is very rare.

More common is trauma to the front of the shoulder.

How is this problen treated?

It is possible that it can resolve itself over time if it is not reinjured. Physical therapy maybe very helpful. There’s surgical approaches for severe issues and a need for higher performance levels such as athletes.

Have you seen this problem in people with PD? Does this nerve entrapment reduced arm swing?

no I did not see this type of entrapment in my 30 years of practicing PT. However I was predominantly an orthopedist manual therapist.

I think it could affect arm swing in gate. there are many people that have abnormal armswing with PD. It is likely to be primary dystonia and not related to any nerve entrapment

Is it easy to release this entrapment?

Not having ever treated one I am not qualified to give an expert opinion. I think it’s possible to treat it with physical therapy but it may require surgery to completely be resolved. Easy? I don’t know.
