Hi

Only low strength but high quality, no direct effect on PD but very good for anxiety and quieting the mind. Since anxiety freezes me solid there is, for me, a benefit re pd.

Best

My husband tried it 3 drops under the tongue 3 X a day for a month or so...we could not see any improvement in Parkinsons or anxiety.

I take an oral dose every evening before bed to relax my muscles. It has really helped.

Melissann, I took it for a month using different strengths and saw no improvement in my PD sorry

The problem with CBD oil is there are so many different kinds out there. My husband who has REM Sleep Disorder which is a symptom of Parkinson's (which he hasn't been diagnosed yet for) takes CBD oil for the sleep disorder and anxiety. The CBD oil he takes is from Stanley Brothers in Colorado. It is called Charlotte's Web and it is the Advanced Hemp oil (meaning their strongest). He takes it 3 times before bed starting around 6:30. This hemp oil cost $250.00 a month and that is how long the bottle last for. It has changed his life. I hope one day they can find a way to bring to the price because it also helps with so many other things as well. Most of the hemp oil sold doesn't have the strong CBD in it. This hemp oil was made especially for children who suffer from seizures which they found out helps with sleep and anxiety as well. Any questions get back with me. Laura

closer43 - I'm curious as to how many drops your husband takes each time and exactly when he takes them. We, too, have bought the Charlotte's Web CBD oil, same strength and yes, expensive, but it never seemed to do much. Thanks.

kgold- He takes about half a dropper 3 x times. He takes his first one around 6:30 p.m., the second around 9:00 and the last one before he goes to bed around 12:00. Remember he has not been diagnosed with Parkinson's but suffers from anxiety, depression, and REM Sleep Disorder which we've been told are the early symptoms of Parkinson's. He doesn't suffer from any tremors yet but he does have Restless Leg Syndrome with the REM Sleep Disorder. The Charlotte's web has helped with all of these problems. That REM Sleep Disorder is tough on the person and more so I think on the spouse who listens during the night to make sure he is ok.

closer43 - thanks so much for reply. When we last tried it, we were hoping it would help with sleep and were following what a neighbor had found effective. Sadly, her process didn't work for my husband. Might give your process a try, although would have to change the times some. Best of luck to you.

Hi. I haven’t been diagnosed with RBD nor Parkinson’s yet, but can I ask what happens in RBD? (I have no partner so I have no one to confirm or deny what I do or don’t). I just know I a.) have bad insomnia b.) can’t stay asleep more than 2-3 hours c) have vivid dreams and d.) will occasionally speak or reach out to grab something. I hope he’s doing better because I want to try CBD as well. I need sleep and a dx. Be well!

Hello. He started having problems 14 years ago when he was about 52. He started moving in his sleep and talking loudly. It has progressed over the years. He doesn't remember much of what happens so I understand how you must feel. All of his dreams are fight or flight. He is either going to fight as witnessed by the punching, kicking, and screaming that happens or he is fleeing witnessed by the moving of his legs that he is running. He has slept on the floor for years surrounded by pillows after receiving stitches multiple times from falling out of bed, hitting lamps, and windows. He never sleep walks or stands up he just moves in his little area. He is back in bed because of aging, but we have adult bed rails to keep him from falling out with pillows.

The Charlotte's Web Advanced Hemp Oil albeit expensive and not perfect helps him sleep the night, and also he can go days without any outbursts. The Charlotte's Web was originally created to help children with seizures which is a brain disorder. They've found out that it also helps with so many other problems, but it has also helped with his anxiety and depression. The other alternative was Clonazepam which was causing him severe side effects and kidney problems. He had to stop taking and we had to find an alternative. He also experienced nights of insomnia mostly because he was afraid of sleeping and what would happen. I hope you find a solution. The Clonazepam might be an alternative for you. Research online there is so much about REM Sleep Disorder. 80% of people go on to develop a neurological disease, so far he hasn't been experiencing anything, but we are aware of the percentage that do. If you have any questions please write me back. Laura

I'm not sure that the hemp plant CBD is what brings results. You need to find the real stuff . A few days after taking CBD my right arm started swinging normally when walking instead of being straight down beside me with my hand in an odd position.

in reply to20fatcat

specifically which CBD product did you take? My husband who has Parkinson's used cannabis CBD oil for several months with no noticeable results.

I have read that it is actually the Hemp CBD plant oil that is helping people with symptoms. I just ordered cbd oil from “HempHealthInc.com” and a friend with Parkinson’s is starting it this week. It is important to start with a low dose and go slow. Another friend has MS and will start it to. I will report back on both. We are starting with the peppermint flavored cbd tincture (2oz. 550mg) from the above company one pump morning and night under tongue, before meals for good absorption. Increase as needed. Everyone is different...dosage is not dependent on size or weight of person. Our dog takes it for seizures, I take it for inflammation from an injury and for a sounder and longer REM sleep. While our dog is much smaller in size/weight, he requires more. It absolutely has reduced his seizures and we are reducing his strong pharmaceuticals! Good luck everyone!

Industrial hemp CBD is useless. It is the THC in medical marijuana CBD that provides the relief of PD symptoms. You are wasting your money on industrial hemp CBD. I suspect you are peddling this product and are trying to take advantage of desperate people.

I agree that this looks like someone creating a profile to sell a product.

Melissann profile image
Melissann in reply toJuliegrace

So because I have listed a product that has helped me and my family I am trying to "sell a product". Wow. I have read that people are looking for specifics...I gave it to them...and now I am the bad guy.

If I am wrong, I apologize. Your presentation of asking a question, then making the recommendation felt a little too pat, especially for someone who created their profile the same day of their first post plugging a product. Your response to being questioned also seems a little extreme.

Melissann profile image
Melissann in reply toJuliegrace

I did not create my profile the same day of as you say "plugging a product." Again, I am only trying to help and because I have had help from this product, I wanted to share my experience. Holding this information back does not help anyone. I am sorry if I sound extreme. I don't like to be accused of doing something I am not.

Melissann in reply todanfitz

How sad is that! I am just trying to learn along with all of you. I have friends who are sick and I have read success stories online and read many articles/studies using both. I have read that THC changes the way regular Parkinson's medications work and CBD does not. I have had very good results with CBD in my personal life and I have no affiliation with the company listed above other than I have ordered it for my own use with positive results. I am only trying to help...please don't accuse me of "peddling this product"! I made no promises. I will report back my experience and it will be honest. I am not that kind of person and would NEVER "take advantage of desperate people." Maybe I am wrong and my friends will not benefit. We are here to report what works and what does not. That is what I am doing. CBD oil has not been "useless" to me and my family. It has helped tremendously in many ways. You may be right...but I hope you are wrong for the benefit of my friends.
