Travelling issue

Hi PWP

I am an Australian travelling at present in the USA and sent some baggage to my next destination. I will not get there for another week. I realised that I sent my Madopar 250 (3 x daily) with the baggage by mistake.

I organised an MD visit and there is no Madopar in the USA. I have been given Sinemet 250 (3 x daily) for the next week. Will there be any side effects? Do you still have to have them on an empty stomach and avoid protein for the next hour? Is there anything I should be aware of with regards to changing my medication?

Thanks

I switched from one to the other with no problems. Just take the same amount of levodopa in the same way. I think the other stuff is just anti nausea.

I'm traveling from Perth to Canada next month and will take extra so I can stash it in different places. I didn't know madapor was not available!

I was taking 2 tablets(125) three times a day but to reduce the amount of tablets I needed, my doctor changed to 1 tablet (250) three times a day. They are quite big. I call them horse tablets. I need to break them in half so I can swallow them without discomfort. Enjoy your travels.

It will be fine. Just different manufacturers, That will be a lesson learned I bet! My best was leaving my bag of pills on a seat in tokyo airport. Thankfully ihad more in another bag.

Have fun.

Take Sinemet at least 30 minutes before eating anything. If you get off schedule ( as what often happens to me when travelling), wait an hour to eat after taking Sinemet. Good luck!

I just took my first Sinemet. I felt really nauseous and 15 minutes later, I vomited. Should I take the next one with food? I am thinking that a slice of bread may be good.

Go to a drugstore and buy Nauzene - this over the counter chewable will help very quickly. Usually found near the travel sickness pills.

Thanks. I also found having the tablet with bread to be an effective solution.
