Personally, I prefer to let PD shrink.
I'm a lazy typist but I get your point.
My preference is to give PD as little space as possible in my life.
It is hard for me to type. PD it shall remain.
OK you win PD it is
My little finger has trouble finding the apostrophe key in typing Parkinson's, so I prefer PD - although that also reminds me of "periodic detention". Nothing periodic about Parkinson's, but for the sake of my little finger I think I still prefer PD.
I tell people in my small world that "I don't want to be talked about as a man fighting Parkinson's , rather I want to be known as the man who did as much as he could to strengthen his body so that Parkinson's is fighting the body to let it in." With that said, I want to deemphasize the disease and focus on the strength of my body.
If you golf, or know someone who does, they will tell you when they swing, if they are thinking about a Hazzard that they want to avoid, their subconscious mind controls their muscles, in such a way, that they will hit the very Hazzard they were trying to avoid.
I say keep the Hazzard we are trying to avoid as small as we can. It's PD for me.
"Regardless of what disease a person has, he/she must first ignore its name. Please note that it is the name that should be ignored, not the disease itself. A disease name is just the tip of an iceberg; there are likely other, more severe underlying diseases that even doctors and patients themselves are unaware of. Disease names are only labels affixed in modern medicine using existing measures based on known pathological indicators and statistics, yet these labels do not necessarily identify the actual diseases. A set of symptoms, or a disease with a particular name, may have different contributing causes. Dispensing prescriptions based solely on a disease name with no regard to its causes may worsen the condition." For more information: paidalajin.com/en/
