Insomnia
Meditation helps.
I think the best way for him to overcome insomnia is to make himself tired during the day with exercise if he could. There are some good breathing techniques to work on Parasympathetic or Vagus nerve which greatly help to fall sleep quickly.
Valerian root is helpful but nothing beats time-release levodopa.
Magnesium before bed can help. I also take the occasional temezepan if I've had a few bad nights running.
