It is all down to Bacteria

Parkinson’s strikes 50% more Men than Women. Why? Because women do not use Urinal pans; They sit to wee, and naturally rid themselves of stools more often. Maintaining a more healthy lifestyle and predominately a better more balanced Microbiology. beauxreflets.blogspot.fr/20...

But let us not forget the Bacteria in our airways and throughout the body, these have to be in balance and in place as well. :)

I think you are right about the bacteria, but another reason for the large discrepancy between sex's could be due to social conditioning?

Or the fact women can get rid of iron for much of their lives while men can't.

When their is insufficient iron it can lead to insufficient L-dopa

Maybe the difference between bound and unbound iron. Iron is heavily found in the SN and it oxidises dopamine.

Not sure iron within the brain CNS will differ that much regarding male v female (50% is a considerable ratio) but I could be wrong.

I cant fight it right now. With luck Park Bear will be here.

The only thing I can suggest is that they are not serious.

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time GymBag.

To under estimate the role of Bacteria within our bodies ultimately costs us dearly. It is like facing all the battles pre-armed with weapons & shields we cannot trigger and fire while in the dark wearing sunglasses.

Dont get me wrong

The owners and master of this world is not humans, or even insects, it is bacteria. Bacteria allows trees to take nourishment from soil, allows us to digest any food, stops the earth from being covered in dead things and is known to associate and bond with virus and holds many things together.

OLD story

I had a bacterial infection that tried to eat my leg, 3 or 4 differant kinds resulting in my taking an antibacterial mix of all the best available by intravenous pump before and after the surgery for about 12weeks . My PD was very much reduced. The theory is that there is a bacteria in our guts (More in people with PD) that inhibits the uptake of the PD medication and that bacteria was reduced /gone. We used the opportunity to decrease the PD meds.

In 8 to 10 weeks I was back where I was before.

I believe there is a relationship between bacteria and PD . It was the quick jump to the peeing thing that bothers me.

:D Quick jump, I was starting at the beginning GymBag.

When I sit on a pan for a wee pee my anal muscles are activated , checking for & dispensing any stool of what ever size. But when I stay standing for to pee, the anal muscles are deactivated or not active beyond passing a little breeze. :D

Perhaps in primitive instinct, Men have a tendency to stand, (especially in the long grass :D , and accordingly the anal muscles will await until being activated by sufficient bulk or pressure in mass kicks in..

Hanging on to toxins for too long is not good - hence the male to female ratio reflects that tendency; underlining the aspect of the need for regularity & a full spectrum in Balanced Microbiology

You may laugh at me saying this, but having ‘reset’ my Peripheral nervous system ( for better or worse as time may tell) I do now actually get a faint ‘sensation’ as I sit in an arm chair or at the table, and it took me quite by surprise (just as the return of an itch directly along the scar line from surgery on my arm I had a few years back, as though it is still healing after all those years).

Now I know live bacteria is recommended for keeping the gut mobile, just as I now bacteria continues multiplying unless knocked on the head by antibiotics etc. And other foods may effect gut bacteria.

My fear is that if the folding rogue proteins (the research surrounding α-synuclein (αS)) prove to contribute to PD are derived from overdosing with certain food types, then for some, choosing the right method to maintain regular movement (if they have that stuck problem) is going to be very important in relation to how the disease progresses or slows down.

And taking all this a thought further. If it is a food type creating these apparent rogue proteins; Could a tiny biopsy, allergy test, identify what or which food types each different patient should go steady on?

Kindest regards Andy
