Horse 🐎 Therapy

I was just wondering how many have heard of Horse Therapy for Parkinsons? I heard of this quite by accident and started looking if there was any in my area. The Funny thing about this is the stables are only 1/2 mile from us.

I started this several months ago and what a wonderful experience. The horses name is Bullett.. I had never been around any horses before, and when they brought this 1600 # Horse up.. I nearly... well you know.

It has given me confidence and a love of this big guy. They are working on my balance, which still has a very long way to go.

I know I’ve written too much, but if you have a chance just check this out. It’s truly amazing how a horse can be so intune to a person with a disability and would be something different for you

The horse 🐎 , the one I use is very mellow, calm and older. He senses the need i have and is very intune to what I need. I had never been anywhere near a horse before and was really scared.. I fed him and just touched him. I couldn’t be without my cane, but they ask me to try to trust the horse and give them my cane. Then as I walked with him, I didn’t realize he had leaned into me and I was leaning into him... he was my cane. This was my first session. Anything you want to know, just ask me I love to share my progress.

What a good idea! I think I'll give it a go. I once owned a horse as a child and have always loved horses. I guess it's time to get back on and trust my balance will improve even more.

It is really amazing. When I get to the Stables I can’t hardly walk and the speech and tremors are really bad. I walk to the stable and the minute I get inside and see Bullett all is gone, I walk without my cane, I’m walking and leading the horse all around the stable. I’ve only been on him twice because balance is so bad, but that will come in time.

Hay, let's saddle up and trot on.

My husband tried it for a while but the balance issue was a huge liability and they asked him to stop coming which was a huge relief to me.

Yes, balance is very hard. At my request, I’ve asked to sign a release
