It was a joke, Dot.

You're taking sinemet, are you taking anything for anxiety?

I agree. If you stop talking to your neighbor, your tongue will not swell up.

Dear Dot,

The medicines for Parkinson do not make the tongue swell up; neither does the disease. Your neighbor is ignorant and/or malicious to scare you with this nonsense. If you really want your tongue to swell up, you will need to approach a swarm of bees, open up your mouth, and let one of the bees sting you on your tongue. Alternatively, you could bite your tongue repeatedly with gusto. Even if those things happen, they are very unlikely to kill you. But listening to the drivel from your neighbor may raise your blood pressure. Don't let anyone frighten you with old-wives tales, or urban myths. Peace and blessings to you.

Dot .. I read forensics and watch the net regarding forensics and almost NEVER read of tongue swelling being a cause of death... never. If you will read Psalms 91 it will help to relieve you of unnecessary fears ! God bless all of you and your families as we press on in our struggles to win back good health !

In almost 45 years now of emergency nursing I have seen many many severe allergic reactions. Although there can be some tongue swelling never once have I seen anyone come remotely close to dying from it.
