My mouth and tongue sometimes twitch and tingle, usually when I'm due for the next dose if madapor. I also gave swallowing problems at the same time.
I sometimes have a shudder around my mouth and jaw - maybe that's not the same as your description? So far it only happens when I am nervous or in a tense social situation. Stress does seem to have a visible effect on Parkinsons.
My husband mouth trembles if he hasn't taken med in awhile. He has decided to take both at night, generic Sinemet and Azlect. Then if he feels quaking inside he will take one during the day. He gets pretty sleepy in the eve. Also has trouble getting out of his chair, then stand a bit before walking. Our daughter wants us to dance in the eve. Good idea if he's awake. I take meds for Fibro so I'm not really up for it either...and in our 70's. I think he's doing well except for his darn double vision in one eye after cararact surgery last year but not caused by it. Dr. says to wait it out. Neighbor has it and is getting prisim glasses. We'll see. Maybe there's hope.
Happens to me. I notice it when smiling for a while. Lips and jaw get tired and shaky. Fun fun.
I call it oropharyngeal dyskinesia and associate it with meds
tongue gets "fat"
just anudder thang
My jaw will not tremble. That was the first clue that I had PD. I was on Miraplex , had a bad reaction....edema in legs , rash on arms, drooling and strange facial expression. Not on any meds now and doing much better.
Happy for you
Addressing the comment about being bothered by outdoor heat. I assuming that was separate from contributing to your quivering lips. Yes I can’t handle heat anymore. Also start sweating and it’s like a runaway train until I go and cool off immediately. I have read that it’s all part of our disease. I avoid working outside on warm days and accept that limitation now.
