I have PD and dystonia. These two movement disorders seem to work against each other.

Are you taking the default ("IR") immediate release version? If so, switch without delay to the "CR", controlled release. I experienced dyskinesia from the IR version even with early stage PD

Hi park_bear, my husband has always taken 25/250 Sinemet with good results, but now after some years is experencing dyskinesia, his neurologist does not believe in the CR version, said it was not effective but could not explain why.

I can buy it over the counter here, if I changed him over, do you know the equivelent dosage at the moment he takes one tablet every 3 hours

I would try starting with the same dosage in the CR version, and initially adding a small dose (10/100 or 25/100) of the immediate release version for a quick boost. During the first day give the CR version the day to fully kick in. Be prepared to tolerate some underdosage at that time and/or add more small immediate release doses as needed. If you find the CR version works but he still experiences dyskinesia try spacing the doses out a bit more, say from 3->4 hours. It's a balancing act between having enough vs too much.

Let us know your results!
