This trial refers to other iron related trials - which I imagine means the Deferiprone trial I'm currently on (which is designed to remove excess iron from the brain).

I'm under the impression however that they're not sure if excess iron in the brain is a cause or - perhaps more likely - a symptom.

Still, all these trials will gradually knit together to create a better understanding of the disease - and eventually an effective treatment I'm sure...

This sounds like the best news coming out of the drugs industry since I was diagnosed in 1992. I hope the trials turn out well and nothing happens that will prevent this drug from reaching the patients.
