I got the Boston-Scientific Vercise-DBS-System in 2016 in Würzburg
DBS: I got the Boston-Scientific Vercise... - Cure Parkinson's
DBS
Excellent. And your point is?
The Vercise by Boston Scientific ( Intrepid ) has not been approved by the FDA. It is being tested and could be approved any day now. I was one of the trial testers. I like it so far. Also, loved my Doctor. Cleveland Clinic Dr. Lobel.
Easy,
Can you give me more detail for example how were your symptoms before, during and after the test? I am contiplating DBS but I'm very nervous! A friend had it done about 5 years ago and it improved tremor greatly but his speech was severely impacted. I think I'd rather shake then live in a world with slurring speech.
Also, I was told by my Dr. that it is similar to the old DBS but the charge is 3 dimensional rather than 2 (more options) and the battery will last longer. They have been using this system for years in Europe .
P.S. - Balance was always a problem and hasn't improved. That however, could be that I am doing everything faster than before.
I, too have the Vercise - implanted as part of a study at the Cleveland Clinic. I plan to be in Berlin Germany next spring and would like to consult with a neurologist there about re-programming my Boston Scientific Vercise stimulator. Europeans have had this system longer than we have and since I plan to be there anyway... Can anyone out there put me on the right course?
