I have suffered from a yeast infection in my oesofagus which was causing me to have the feeling that I could not swallow and pain in the middle of my chest, having a camera down my throat showed that i had a yeast candida infection, i also suffer from cystitus and i am now on tablets to help slow down my need to urinate urgently and hopefull will be able to hold for a little while. I am waiting to have a scan on my kidneys and a camera to look at my bladder. My husband has just been diagnosed as having yeast disease on his penis, he was told it is very common and will clear within a few days. I have diabetes type 2 and I am on metformin 3 times a day 500mg. I would like to know what actually causes these yeast infections and when yeast is mentioned does this actually mean yeast as in bread?. Can anyone please give some advise. Thanking you all in anticipation

Yeast Disease Does anyone know what causes them.
sorry/ I cant answer your question, but I have just been diagnosed with acid reflux. Due in part to a thrush infection. I also have Type 2 diabetes, controlled by diet at the moment and thyroid problems. Not sure which to tackle first. The acid reflux is harder to get control of. even more difficult than the Parkinsons. I am still feeling my way round a minefield at the moment. Hope you get the answers you are looking for.
I did a search and the following link has 18+ Natural Ways to Heal Oral Thrush:
The number one recommended natural supplement is cinnamon and it should be noted that it is an herb that helps balance blood sugar for diabetic patients:
Cinnamon improves glucose and lipids of people with type 2 diabetes.

Is cinnamon good for PD?
Cinnamon could fight Parkinson's: Spice found to be source of chemical that can help protect the brain
While taking a urinary incontinence med, please remember that PD patients are prone to bladder infections from holding urine in the bladder. Seems contrary doesn't it? Nevertheless my husband was given Mybetriq for Incontinence at the same time he was trying to dump some heart failure fluids (not a lot) and ended up with a UTI, heart and kidney failure resulting in the loss of 80% function of his heart. Docs still maintained that one had nothing to do with the other. Really? giving a flui-holding med to a person prone to UTI who is already holding fluid who gets bad results is coincidental? Well, maybe. Not saying not to take that kind of med (it can be a godsend!), just get yourself checked frequently for infection....if insurance limits you, pay it out of pocket. It's not an expensive test.
Btw, inotice that Mybetriq now includes 'UTI' as a hazard in the very fine print at the bottom of the screen.
A product called (aptly enough) Heartburn Relief by Enzymatic Therapy is wonderful for acid reflux. Google it. I tried everything after diagnosis and exhaustive testing, including some of the meds proscribed by the docs, most of which had terrible side effects. Get a book called Drug Muggers by Suzy Cohen before taking any prescriptions so you will know what they do, the side effects, the alternatives and how to supplement if you really have to use a drug. Cohen is a PharmD and knows her stuff. No home should be without this little book.
It was very common and may still be in babies years ago. It's called thrush. I believe it's candida. There is good advice on this site for you but you may also try a good probiotic every day once you get it corrected. I can guarantee you a registered dietician can help you get rid of it and keep it gone. They may also be able to lessen your Meds through appropriate nutrition. I'm currently under the care of one who is also trained in the leap diet which finds out what foods flavorings and additives you are sensitive to not allergic to.
Good luck and feel well. Judy
