No it was only suggested then unsuggested

Yes, confirmed. He also stated new drugs available since I was first dx three years ago.

Had a session with neuro yesterday. He gave me some tests and exam then put me on ropinirole. In three weeks he will test and examine me again. The tests and exams meant to find the correct dose level that will bring me comfort. The medicine does quell my tremors somewhat.

He also noticed I have restricted airway. Maybe my event in the early a.m. was my being awakened by sleep apnia. After he takes care of the P issue, he is going to recommend another test. This one sleep related.

Hello RoyProp

Please make your care giver aware of all possible side affects of opinirole

it can do weird things to you. Your care giver should pay close attention to minor changes you may have. You will not be able to tell you have changed it will feel normal to you.

I took opinirole for 9 years and the longer i took it the more the side affects grew. I had gambling problems (it cost me about $20,000 US dollars not a great amount we could well afford it), sex addiction, this was not a big problem my wife was affected too i believe by just handling the opinirole so she was able to keep up with me and we just enjoyed it. We were lucky it all turned out okay. I got off the opinirole and went back to normal. I don't say this to scare you or to suggest you not take the meds just to inform you. I believe you are aware of this (by reading your past posts) . Normal for me LOL. I have no tremor and I think you have said that it is your main symptom. So what works for me may not work well for you.

I was put on carbidopa-levodopa (sinemet 25/100) and it has worked well for me I am taking 25 (yes 25) 25/100 tablets a day just a little above the highest recommended dose and i am not having any major side affects and little or no down time. I have been DX with PD for 10 years.

Good luck with your sleep Apnea

Dealing with PD is hard enough.

What tests did your neuro give you to find correct dosage? I've not heard of any tests that do this? Thanks!

He will compare my motor and physical tests before and after taking meds

Thank you! I thought it was some new lab testing.

Hi atti. I assume you are addressing this to me. Yes 4 neurologists have confirmed that I have Pd. Dr Norman Doidge has been all the way from Canada to South Africa to confirm that I do have Pd.

I think you'll find he was asking Royprop, who recently wondered if he'd been misdiagnosed and was due to see his neuro. From what I understand he has seen his neuro who has confirmed the original diagnosis. I'm not trying to speak for Royprop, who is more than capable of speaking for himself, but I have been following the threads and I believe that is where the confusion has arisen.

I wasn't trying to speak for you, either, attyj!

I have increased my dose to 600mg each day.

Either RoyProp has left HU forum or his account has been deleted

Has anyone noticed? What may be the reason?
