Has anyone suffered withdrawal from Requip? If so what are the withdrawal symptoms. How long do they last?
Requip: Has anyone suffered withdrawal from... - Cure Parkinson's
Requip
My neurologist / movement specialist told me that if you are going to reduce it you must do so over several months very slowly . Too fast can result in a very large increase in PD symptoms , and including death. He said that last part twice.
SLOWLY
Are you thinking of withdrawing Patsysr?
There are a couple of reports on line but not much literature. I know people have had a hard time decreasing and stopping Requip and other agonists. The effects have been on mood as well as physical. Some people take many months to withdraw but then some don't have trouble stopping. The effects I experienced were not improving 2 wks on, I felt dreadful, so I stayed on agonists.
Hi Patsysr. There is a lady in one of the support groups I attend, who has reduced her intake f Requip from 7 pills a day down to 1. She did it very slowly and listened to her body. The last time I saw her she had lost a fair amount of weight and was feeling very much better than she had been feeling before starting to reduce the Requip. If you would like to learn more I will ask her for the details of exactly what she did and in what way(s) she feels better.
