I am 57 and was diagnosed with PD at the age of 38. I think the only thing that slows this thief down is exercise. Smoking pot just slows me down some more and I do think drinking hard liquor makes my dyskinesia worse. It is tough on one's love life too. Viagra has been work well for the last 18 yrs but is starting to flag. Injections is the next stage...and so far, they work great.. Just got to keep truckin. (he bravely states...lol)_

I am 58 and was diagnosed at 51. I agree that exercise helps. My husband and I try to go for walks several times a week and usually walk almost 2 miles. We live in Nevada and it has been over 100 degrees everyday for the last 16 days with no end in sight. It gets hot so early right now that if we don't walk by 6:30 a.m. you might as well forget it. We love drinking beer and sometimes I feel it makes my dyskinesia worse too but I'm not ready to give that up. We just got our medical marijuana cards in the mail today. I was able to get my husband one also since he is my care giver. Pot does seem to take my tremors away for a while. I feel like PD has taken my sex drive away totally. It really sucks because it makes me feel totally withdrawn from my husband and he is a wonderful man.
Hard liquor? No. BUT -- if I have a glass of red wine in the evening, my shaking right arm quiets down considerably!
