I wonder if PD does not start really early in life with very mild almost unnoticeable symptoms?
I think so. In hindsight. I have walked without moving my left arm since my 20's. Right arms swung normally. More studies need to be done on biopsies also of the colon.
If you look at non motor symptoms such as constipation reduced sense of smell rem behaviour disorder nightmares and then small handwriting these symptoms can go back ten to fifteen years prior to diagnosis. They slowly creep up until either a tremor or rigidity or slowness forces you to seek advice from a gp. It's lime the dripping tap or a air leaking from a tyre. Although you may get diagnosed today you could have had symptoms for many years.
I wonder if it still gives good results for people with either no visible tremor or those with a tremor in their non dominant hand?
