Parkinson’s Action Network (PAN) advocate for better treatments and a cure. In partnership with other Parkinson’s organisations and a significant grassroots network, PAN aims to educate the public and government leaders on better policies for research and an improved quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s.
Earlier this week PAN and their grassroots leaders visited Capitol Hill to call their Members of Congress during the Parkinson’s Day of Action. In addition to hundreds of calls, PAN grassroots leaders and researchers held over 160 meetings, drop-bys, and encounters with Members of Congress and their staff.
The Parkinson’s Day of Action was part of a three-day long Leadership Forum held in Washington, DC earlier this week. It included Grassroots leaders exploring ways they can advocate for PAN and the Parkinson’s community throughout the year. It also included national experts speaking about a wide range of issues including Parkinson’s priorities at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and the need to repeal the Medicare therapy caps. On the third day their message was taken to Capitol Hill.
