How interested would you be in a series of yoga classes centered on the issues that Parkinsons presents? I am a certified yoga teacher.

Geographic location?

Where and how?

I live in Virginia but that is not an issue as youtube is a vehicle in which I can post the class. Write to me letting me know what you are dealing with and what you would like to focus on. Some might be experiencing balance and movement difficulty, muscle rigidity, pain, sleeplessness, anxiety, and there are others I can't think of at the moment. I look forward to your messages. Let's move against Parkinsons, it is worth the fight.

Yes, it's a great idea. I think you've got enough to start.

I love the idea! I take a yoga class in my neighborhood, but would love a class that focuses on all the issues you listed. Being able to do a daily practice in my own home would be an incredible gift!

Great, that inspires me. I will start as soon as I can get a camera and let you know the youtube address. I encourage you all to let me know what you would like to focus on. Drop me a line (or two) and let's begin.

Stunning idea... I exercise everyday but due to anxiety and fluctuations of meds I'm reluctant to join groups. There's always expectations from the instructors for punctual attendance. This only adds to the anxiety and depression.

I understand. I will be working on the videos instead of eating turkey.

I can barely walk. I've had PD for 15 years +. Could I still participate?

Of course Mary Alice, Yoga can be practiced sitting, and/or laying on the spine and stomach. The benefits of yoga stem from using the breath to move the body. The brain loves oxygen and so does the body. Something as simple as taking deep inhales with the arms raising over the head then exhaling slowly as the arms are lowered to your side ( through the nose) is yoga. Sitting, close your eyes, raise the arms on the inhale then exhaling ,slowly lower the arms. As you breathe in taste the air for temp, texture and smells. Try it outside. It is one of my favorite exercises. Much love your way, girl.
