Has anyone HADE EXPERIENCE with use of Gabapentin?
use of Gabapentin for PD or associated he... - Cure Parkinson's
use of Gabapentin for PD or associated head discomfort.
Gabapentin can be a big help in PD. It needs to build up a couple days to be helpful. Great for neuro pain and and pins and needles type pain. Or restless legs... I have had no side effects other than sleepiness. Best of luck with it.
I started on Gabapentin in 2011. They gave me that for restless legss after withdrawing me from ropinarol....so far dong ok with it
Yup. Been there. Done that. Helps with pain greatly. But it is a double-edged sword. You will find that over time that it will also accentuate dementia. As for me personally, the bad outweighed the good, and I have discontinued it. ****NOTE**** Consider "TOPOMAX". Through the advice of a much trusted movement disorder specialist, I have been trying 50mg. at bedtime. Seems to be doing well.
Best wishes

Yes, I also take Gaberpentin for acute sciatica pain. I started it about 8 months ago and initially it was wonderful and I was pain free. However, now it wears off anything up to two hours before my next dose is due. I did not want to take it because of side effects, but I have never suffered any.
I have been on it for about 2 1/2 years for neck and shoulder pain. It works well and I have not noticed any side effects.
I have been taking Gabapentin for two years now. I find it takes the edge off of pain and muscle cramps. I take one 300 mg capsule. If I still have pain when going to sleep, I take a clonazepam, and I am out in about 10 minutes. So far, no side effects noted. Sometimes I feel a little dizziness, but that may be due to one of the many other meds I take.
