Goodmorning , have you had your B-12 levels checked ? I take it once a week my Neuro told me Parkinsons depletes your B-12 I Thank God for my new Neuro I have learned more in 1 hour with him than 7 years with the other Dr. I feel like I have my life back . I also see a physciatrist who is also a medical Dr. andI take Doxipen it is an anti depressent but I take it at bedtime and I sleep sound, I use to sleep for an hour and up for 3 ,sleep deprivation is not healthy.I hope wish you well.
Depression is a component of Parkinson's. Talk to your Movement Disorder Specialist or Neuro. Vit D levels are also important. Have them checked also. My husband took Zoloft. He states he didn't feel different but those of us around him definitely saw a difference.
I take 1200mg of CoQ10 a day and after a couple of weeks I noticed a definite increase in energy and a better frame of mind. In addition, I take curcumin every day. I also do vigorous aerobic exercise almost every day. I do not take any Parkinson's prescription drugs or any other prescription drug except Lasix for fluid retention. My principal Parkinson's symptoms are balance problems and walking problems. I cannot walk without a cane. Although I cannot say that I notice any improvement in these symptoms, there is definite improvement in energy level, frame of mind (depression) and sleeping.
HiI gave my friends the job of keeping a watching brief on me. They realise when I am down and listen to me, come for short visits, send me cheerful emails about their lives and generally keep me ticking over until the cloud passes again. I am always tempted to shut myself away and eat too much which just gives me more to cope with as I come out of depression.
