Are you aware of any new treatments being researched?

How do you feel about participating in clinical trials?

What would prevent you from being involved in a medical research study?

I'm not aware but I have looked previously.

Depends on what the study is. I'm not up for taking untested meds.

Northwick Park. Concern over safety and high risk with very powerful medicine.

I would not take part in any trials involving new medicines. I would like it if someone launched a trial on the benefits of certain SSRI's on RA and other inflammatory diseases. I found about half a dozen research articles and case-studies showing that SSRIs - prescribed to reduce depression/anxiety which is related to inflammation in the brain - have reduced - or completely eradicated RA pain and inflammation.

I'd also love a study on the benefits of Kratom for RA sufferers - and sufferers of other chronic diseases. Having been issued opioids for months on end - well over a year - which did not help my pain, did not help me sleep and did not allow me to function normally, I only wish I had found Kratom sooner and am thankful I was not one who became addicted.

My primary doctor has worked with me on both of these treatments. I'm not sure many other docs out there would.

This is not an area I have particularly researched so am unaware of any current studies. I have not given thought to this area so cannot comment.

Hopefully soon, I should be on a biologic treatment, if this treatment fails I would partake in a clinical trial.

I don’t think my RD is bad enough yet to warrant taking a risk with new untried drugs. However I’d never say never.
