How do you deal with having bursitis? I have tried lots of things. Exercise, massage, and Aleve. I am unable to resolve the pain and to get it to heal. I am unable to sleep because of it and walk long distances.

I had pain in my hip back when I was exercising a lot, and went to a dr for X-rays (way before my RA) and it was bursitis, I took advil every 4 hours and slowed way down on my walking, but what finally helped the most was a new mattress, we got a Sleep Number bed and it is so nice on my hip.

I too suffered bad pain in my left hip and upper thigh. couldn't lay on it to sleep. I had PT and exercises/stretches which helped. They finally tried cold laser therapy in 3 spots. After 4 treatments pain was GONE! I am able to lay on that side to sleep. I hope you can find this near you. I am now trying it on my right shoulder. It was almost impossible to sleep when I couldn't lay on either side. Good Luck.

Steroids and injections are the best relief, but can try streching. If your feet bother you you can try proteus inserts. They helped tremendously.

I have had injections in my knees before. I didn't like it. I have since the. Had a knee replacement. I also had a cortisone early spring and you should only get so many or it isn't good for your joints. Glad it helped you.
