Tired

I was diagnosed with RA 2 years and osteoporosis 6 years ago. I am 42. My RA doctor is still trying to figure out medicines that will work for me. I work in a doctor's office and I am on my feet all day. My feet cause me the most pain. Just tired of being tired and hurting with no end in sight.

Hi! I'm sorry that you're not getting relief. Have you tried a biologic? Prednisone can be a godsend. It can help bringing a flare under control. Have you had steroid injections? Steroids are hard on bone density but maybe a short course is ok.

Feet can be the worst. For me, I resisted wearing the right shoes, and that was a mistake. Get custom orthotics. You might have to ask for an accommodation. "Giving in" to do things to deal with the disease is really hard, I know, but crucial. My go to is an ice water soak. Sounds terrible but helps me a lot! Best wishes!

I get RA nodules in the arches of my feet. Gentle massage helps with some essential oil. And soaking in really warm water with Epsom salt and baking soda eases the pain and I think helps decrease the intensity. I also am on my feet all day most of the time as I'm a nurse. I changed to Brooks shoes and also wear compression stockings now. It's helped. I wish you relief! Keep fighting!!

I tried the memory foam shoes. They hurt me! But I have high arches so that may have been my issue. Just keep FIGHTING! 💙💜

With RA, being on feet all day, typically anything beyond 2 hrs, inflames the tendons in the feet and keeps them inflammed and triggered. The right shoes help some and soaking feet in epsom salt water, but the reality of this auto immune disease is that tendinitis in the feet is hapoening due to constant distress. Even well managed RA will cause inflammation and pain in feet and tendons with a career where you are on your feet beyond a few hours. Thats the reality.

I know how you feel. My feet never bothered me when I was working. But now they feel like the tendons are very tight.

I bought compression stockings so far it has helped. Also very comfortable shoes with good arch support.
