There seemed to be some interest a couple weeks ago...I thought I’d try to make friends in this group since the subject is dear to me. If anyone wants to be active here then let’s be active. I guess I’ll look for other groups....”diversify”

Hi!

How are you?

How long have you been meditating? I learnt Transcendental Meditation up at the Golden Dome in Skem a few years back but I struggle to maintain a regular practice and it's something I feel is important to me. Maybe try bumping the group within the mental health groups and Positive Support during Self-Isolation for more interest?

Hi! Yay someone. Lol. I am interacting with other groups, is that what you mean when you say “bumping” ? I just hope to have communication with groups more focused on meditation and the like. 🤷‍♀️

I have not had formal TM but I have had a lot of experience with it based on practices I have been taught by teachers who were very eclectic in their own practices.

I just meant highlighting within the other groups that Couch to Buddha exists to get the group more active again is all. I know there's a few posts about it in the mental health support groups but I came searching for a meditation group specifically to help motivate me to practice more and thought it would be cool to share practices, experiences, maybe resources, apps, anything related to meditation and mindfulness.

I have some experience with kirtan and singing mantras but I've never tried intoning. I'll have to look that up and find out more.

...I was doing some forms of meditation in my childhood though without consistency. Then in my young adulthood I became very well versed in guided meditations and mantras. I have spent the majority of my 40’s working with quieting the mind or intoning.

Hi Pete. Nice to see someone comment in here. Every once in a while someone posts here and moves on because It’s such a small group with little interaction. I keep thinking if all the people that do stop by and want to interact would, there would be at least 15 or 20 people engaging on a regular basis. Over the past few weeks I have been utilizing nature as my meditation. It’s such a great time of year to be sheltering in place If you have an outdoor space. I’m currently creating a rain garden filled with hummingbird butterfly and be attracting flowers.😃 It’s gonna be a great place to meditate.

No the user name isn’t about age, it’s more numerology based. I will chat with anyone regardless of age as long as they are kind and respectful. 😊
