Hi, I'm inexperienced at mediation so any advice on best position to get your body into for deepest meditation & relaxation. Also, what is the best mantra to use. I would like to reach a transcendental meditative state so any tips would be much appreciated. Tips on how long to mediate for & how often.
Many thanks

There isn't actually any prescribed position for meditation - there are several schools of meditation and some may have favoured positions but you really need to find what is right for you. there are a lot of guided meditations that you can use.
each meditation starts with some guidance on the position you might want to adopt (though have to admit that I don't necessarily follow any of the advice.
I haven't looked at them myself by I see that there are a number of pinned posts that might be helpful if you are just starting. If you are using a browser they will be listed on the right hand side. Not sure where they appear on a mobile
Thanks for your time & advice. I will take a look at the website you mentioned. I would be so good to 'get a grip' in my anxiety & be able to give myself an anxiety holiday. So I will give it a try. Much appreciated ☺️
Getting to that place can take a very long time. In the beginning being just comfortable enough to not get too distracted (by a sore back or ache in the knee) but not so comfortable that you fall asleep. The idea is to get to that brain state in between sleep and awake.
I like the idea of choosing a focus to bring your thoughts back to when you catch yourself thinking about mundane stuff. I have heard to visualize the image of a rose, or think of the word peace or love. Then just sitting uninterrupted and zeroing in on your chosen focus. Not sure if you are beyond this but honestly nothing replaces the he practices that create a good foundation. 💜
