What to wear in the rain?☔️

Morning all,

I’m just starting W5R1 today so have never run in any weather other than perfect sunshine.🌞

I’m a bit stumped about what to wear today. Suggestions pls?

For me it depends on how warm it is at the same time.

If it’s wet and warm I just run in my usual gear, perhaps wearing a short sleeve top rather than a vest if it’s windy. Polyester running gear seems to hold less water than a cotton tshirt, so you don’t really need a jacket.

If it’s wet and colder/windier then a light, thin, vented running jacket. These tend to be quite water and wind resistant on the front and shoulders but have lighter, airy material on the rear.

We don’t melt. Biggest hazard is it gets slippy underfoot. Also make sure you can be seen if doing any roadside running.
