What about Park run ... worldwide on a Saturday morning? Back marker stays with the slowest person until they finish.

Unfortunately, there are currently no parkruns in China. I've run in your area when I've been visiting (Shunde, Foshan City, which isn't far from you is it?). It's a lovely place to run, but I did find that I had to go out early to avoid the heat. However, I'm used to a much cooler climate.

Although I didn't see many other runners whilst there, I did feel very comfortable running. Everyone seemed very friendly (perhaps they were just bemused by seeing a gangling westerner lumbering round the park).

Thanks everyone. I have a fit friend staying for a week and she is encouraging me to get started just worried than when she heads back to New Zealand, I will head back to the couch so am looking for a run buddy. Will reach out on people near me and runtogether. Again thanks.
