I love Jerusalem. Many years ago I was a student in France. My English flatmate & I were invited to Boxing Day lunch with a French family. There were dozens of them and after a splendid lunch & loads of wine they started singing carols & the like. Eventually they all decided Tim & I should sing something. The only thing we both thought we knew all the way through was Jerusalem so we launched into it, right through all the verses (including miming/dah-dah-dahing the piano bits betwen versus) and built up to a rousing crescendo in true school/rugby club fashion. The frogs eyes were out on stalks by the end and then they broke into tumultuous applause & cries of 'encore'. Magical. Happy days....
