In my domestic routine, I can run Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Should I also run on a Saturday or Sunday, or miss both those days?

That's how we did it. You then have Saturday if you are unable to go one of the other days and just shift it for that week. Always best to have a days rest in between.

I did the same when I was working my way through the programme, then a 2-day break at the weekend( though I was often itching to go out again before Monday...I never did).I think for me it was important to have the two rest days ,though I would swim or walk between runs .I'm sticking to the same at the mo,but thinking of increasing to a run every other day i.e. 4 a week, but never run on consecutive days as your body needs time to rest and repair.Good luck with the programme.

Thanks, this is what I wanted to know. I am just worried that when Monday comes I will struggle to get going again - I am such a stiffy, and have never been able to run, though I am enjoying C2K at the moment. I am due to start week 4 next, and looking at what I have to do, feeling quite daunted. Will follow your advice though, and try to stick with it.

You shouldn't feel daunted , you have got W3 under your belt and Laura and the programme have prepared you for what lies ahead. If you do struggle on any week you can always repeat any of the runs or even the whole week if needed, but its amazing what the body is capable of...just don't listen to the voice in your head telling you it's not possible ! Just one more thing ...I used to try not to look ahead,so as to avoid stewing over what seemed like an impossible task lined up for the following week !

If I was you, rest or risk injury. You could cross train - swim, cycle or some other low impact exercise, but give your knees and feet a rest.

It's always tempting to up the number of runs each week as your ability grows... you've spent all your life not thinking you are able to run, then all of a sudden you find that you can, and you can't do it all the time? it's like telling a toddler to take a break from walking every other day.

I always ran Monday, Wednesday and Friday myself and still do now, if anything I always find Monday's run easiest out of the 3, not sure if that's due to 2 days of rest or the fact we have "PUDDING" on a Sunday :D quite often, and therefore I'm more Carb loaded.

Now I'm a more experienced runner, I sometime do an additional quick 5k on Saturday or some other form of Cardio workout.

I think the main aim is to try and run three times a week whatever day it is on. I use to confuse things with what day to run etc etc....putting a lot of pressure on myself and feeling disheartened. Stay focus and keep running .....

Hi! Now that I've got my question answered here I am changing my tactics and as a result I will also be starting week 4 run 1 this Friday. From now on I am not going to peep in advance at what's coming next - it is too scary! Good luck to you too.

I like to do my R3 on a Friday so I can have a good 2 day recovery after the hardest run of the week. It works for me...

I generally do Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.

I just find it easier that way, but there's flexibility to change things if schedule demands it
