Will you be Running During the Festive Period ?
Please select one:
Hopefully scheduled to start week 6 so how could I not run on Christmas Day π
Week 6 for me too ! Running days are mon, wed, fri, so no excuses really
Current schedule is the w9 runs on 24th, 26th and 28th December!
My run days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, rain or shine, so I'll have Christmas Day and New Year's Day off, but I'll be running on Boxing Day. The only reason I'd cancel a run would be if it was impossible due to snow. Cold and/or wet is no problem, as someone else on this forum has said, skin's waterproof, and immediately after my runs I have my first coffee of the day then a lovely hot shower.
Especially as it means I can have an extra glass of Prosecco for being so noble π
I treat myself to an extra bottle
π like your style π
A gal after my own heart... If you like Prosecco.. maybe try the Aldi, Cremant de Jura...it is great.. and cheap
I spotted it last year in on of the Sunday Newspaper Mags.... !
No but thatβs because we are away! If I was home then I would on Xmas eve and Boxing Day π
We are going away to The Lakes and taking our running gear π
π± Mountains π±
Ahh sounds amazing! Weβre going to Scotland, I probably will pack some running stuff. The trouble is once I get into a healthy routine it becomes addictive, so to have a long break could be dangerous and make it hard to get back on track! So yeah itβs a good idea to stick with it at Xmas.
Christmas week should be week 8 so definitely ππ
I will be starting w6 on Christmas morning, normal time about 5am ish!! That will set me up for the day. Looking forward to it. I surprise myself with every run ππββοΈπββοΈ
Quite agree after years of getting up to milk the herd, even though now retired still get up at 5, best time of the day π
milk the herd....?
200 Holstein Friesian cows π
blimey thats hardcore. My husband says I look like a friesian in my latest running top!!!
π
I'm going home to the farm for the Christmas period which may put my running on hold a little . Like to go early in the morning but I'm pretty sure hungry calves will have other ideas and want their breakfast first!
Did the π run at work. Loved it
Will do.....Christmas Eve and Boxing Day... weather , ( well...ice permitting) ! I may, just may, get a 1K in Christmas morning...
Started w1 this week so can't give up momentum that quickly!
Planned a reset week from 22-29 Dec to coincide with being away.Quietly hoping to do something outside. Will be first outside for weeks.
Atb to everyone with their plans.

Completed the programme on Saturday and have done 2 consolidation runs this week - feel like if I stop, even just for Christmas, it will start the rot of me making excuses not to do it! ππ
I hope so, depends on care packages and wotnot. Maybe not actual Christmas Day (though it is such a lovely day to get out there)
My run days are usually Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays so, yes! An excuse to fill my boots once I've done a run in the morning - after present opening of course!
Would love to but think I have damaged my calf muscle quite badly after WK6R3...painful to walk on never mind run....π’π’π’
Scheduled to finish C25K on 24th then first graduation run on 29th and again on New Yearβs Eve. π
I am on week 7 and am entered into a local charity event on nye π€ͺ so I kind of have to.. I really hope I can keep the motivation up - I feel like Iβve come so far that taking a couple of days/week break would set me back. Plus, diabetes & festive indulgence are a bad mix that never ends well - enjoy the festivities everyone ππ π»π€Άπ»π
Will be starting week 7 on Christmas Day!
Not this year! Finish my challenge on Christmas Eve - taking a fortnight off and back at it in New year....
I lied.... ran 9km today
Definitely will be running as I will have some time off work and the opportunity to run more in the daylight. I really don't like running in the dark so can't wait for running and festivities!π π½
Christmas day parkrun.
Canβt stop me now! Just completed W9R1 and planning to run a Park Run on 22nd December and will keep running 3 times a week.
Xmas day and New Year's day parkruns hopefully. Might squeeze in a couple of short runs on other days.
I wouldβve though if it wasnβt for my pesky broken wrist π’π’π’π’π’
I graduated 2 years ago on Christmas Day.
Hope to do a Christmas morning park run!
5km xmas day same as last year I would think
Everyone sleeps in the evening after a busy day I pull on my trainers and take a very very steady run
Planned to do park run on New Yearβs Day plus run on no work days βοΈ
I've lost some motivation recently with the cold weather and grey skies, so I'm not sure if I'll use the festive season as an excuse or whether the need to get out the house will spur me on.
We have a Parkrun to go to on Christmas Day and New Years Day - wouldn't miss it for the world.
Iβve ran on Christmas Day in the past and Tuesday is usually a run day for me. Hopefully starting W9 that week π€
Can't run on Christmas Day (working), but Eve, Boxmass.....
yes. When hangovers and food binges allow
Hope to in the days between Xmas and new year as off work.. so means no I don't have to be a vampire! But yep depends on how much food and booze I've had and if hungover!ππ
100%. My schedule is 15th 17th 19th 21st 23rd 25th 27th 29th 31st ππ
Iβm being dragged out early Christmas morning... then I have an appointment with some champagne, gin, port, maybe a wine or two and some ale... good job Boxing Day is a rest day π
My running days are Mon, wed, Fri so won't be any different just because it's christmas
I hopen so!
I'm planning to go for a run on the 25th, it will be a different route as staying at my mums.... In the countryside, surrounded by fields and totally peaceful, so no music for me on this occasion.
Can't wait π
I really want to run on Christmas day but all my extended family are here and I can't bear the fact they will go on and on and on about it ......might have to sneak out at 6am and be back before they notice! Maybe I could wear jingle bells too, that might make a few kids in the area look out the window:)?
Heck, I'm starting my C25K journey this festive period!
I did daily and early so as not to ruin others' Christmas but not been posting as forgot logging in details. Yes it has been a while.
