What is your Favourite running season of the y... - Couch to 5K
What is your Favourite running season of the year?
Definitely autumn. It is no longer hot enough to fry eggs on the pavement (and they get full of grit anyway) and all the hard work of Spring and summer means you can cruise and enjoy the runs
It all depends on the actual day. I like the summer when we are South and I like the winter when we are North. Meaning the warmer weather, early morning and beautiful skies.
Spring and Summer as I am a morning person! (Hence completing the poll at 0417), so I really enjoy getting out there on my own in a beautiful environment, surrounded by nature and wildlife.
It doesn't matter what time of year you run this poll. The answer has to be "Now!" (particularly when you are answering this poll whilst waiting for your Garmin to remember where it is).
Late spring/ early summer when it's not too hot, but it's light in the mornings when I prefer to go running. But actually there are so many reasons to love running at any time of year.
I love Summer running because I do early (5:30am) runs and it's so much better doing it in daylight, rather than pitch darkness!
Autumn for me. Although I love all seasons, even winter, autumn's temperature is usually perfect for running. And I love all the misty, cool, wood smoked smell of nature . And of course the colours. What's not to love? Summer is my least favourite.
Aargh!
I love running on warm Spring days because of the fantastic zingy bright green everywhere, and the flowers - and the pollen can be a problem.
I love running on cool Summer days because of the gorgeous hay fields and the dark green hedges - and the heat and dust can be a problem.
I love running on warm Autumn days because of the wonderful russets and oranges - and the dust or rain can be a problem.
I love running on a crisp Winter morning because of the intense blue of the sky and the white of the frost on the ground - and the cold air in my lungs can be a problem.
I love running in all seasons, and I wimp out quite often as well
I just love running so love all seasons for different reasons, don't even mind height of summer I just run late evening when its cooler. My big nemesis is strong wind and very heavy rain and they can come at any time of the year
Autumn not too cold and you can run in the changing light. Twilight is my favourite time of the day to run.
I like winter as I was doing C25K then. Now I have graduated, still love winter, crisp and fresh morning runs in the dark using my new headtorch LOL
I'm only at week 8 on the programme, but I must say summer would probably be the best month, practically speaking. Longer daylight hours, clearer skies and warm weather. I'd love to run in the winter though to see how that would feel. I'm looking forward to it.
