Only 2. I got the dreaded lurgy and was laid up. took my runners with me and was all organised but it was just not to be.
I did run first thing on Christmas Day but it was a struggle to find other appropriate times to go running....
Happy with my 4, weaving them around the festivities and ice - holidays mean weekday running is back on the cards
Only missed one run because my knees and ankles were aching so much. Did some good as they were fine on my next run.
I did 17 runs which was exactly to plan
One run was on Christmas day morning, around Draycote Water. I also did a ParkRun at Leamington
17!!! Blimey! I only managed 15 and that was running everyday and 2 parkruns on NYD!
That's more than two a day !!
Another laid-low with the bug that is doing the rounds down here. It would have been more [honestly] if I had felt better. Still suffering, but out cycling at least.
Urgh! I think that'll be me next week, the dentist is finally sorting out the tooth that kept breaking and losing its filling last year (3 fillings in total because they kept coming out, the last one is holding, except a fraction of it came out about 3 months ago).
7 for me
Just checked and I managed 5 - so a couple missed due to going away. Still, chuffed with that
6 for me! only one between 22-27th Dec, oh dear!
4 - first 5 k's in long time and got back to Parkrun so to me a successful time.
Hello and Happy New Year!
I ran a couple of loops around the nearby wharf before Christmas (you know, just to allow myself to eat a lot of food on the 25th without any guilt ;D), and also took part in 4 parkruns - there were special ones held on Christmas morning and on New Years day.
It's not me that's scared, it's my bank account!
Errrmmmmm........
My answer does not appear to be listed
Managed 6 runs with 4 of them over 5km. Happy with that, as managed to increase the distance with each run.
Only 3 for me- I did attempt to go out between Christmas and New Year but hardly got past the warm up walk as it was very icy and I didn't feel safe. I was slipping all over the place. I'm back to my normal routine now though, with no ill effects.
14 for me including a 10 mile race worked out quite well no weight gained
Nine for me. Had no choice really - I was signed up for a 10k race on Jan 3rd!
Proud to say I clocked up 11! (But that does include 2 Parkruns on NYD).
All that and I still put on some weight - dread to think what size I would have been had I not been running.
4, 3 parkruns one on Christmas day and one in another city ( Edinburgh ) and a first time run with my daughter, who has been running for a while and me only 4 months. I still managed to put on the weight as well.
I did 6 - in various parts of the country. managed t loose weight over Xmas. Could that be my cooking.!!!! Course not - excercise. Oh and map my run gave me a sprint award and10 points. Still not sure what that's all about
10! 7 day running streak in there! Felt awesome!
5 for me. 2x 10k and 3x 5k. Included 3 PBs set latest 5k one on Christmas Day.
Well done everyone else.
I got 5 in over the holidays.
I managed 6 - 2 were 11ks 2 were hill runs 2.6 miles each and two were 4.5 milers. I am so jealous of the daily runners my feet /knees and ankles could not keep with that. Only been running since septemberish so still need the day's rest in between. I'm over forty is it likely that I'll always need the rest day?
Congrats to you all though as any running is better than none. get well soon as well!
If 1968 is your birth year then I'm older than you! I'd say build up to it slowly if you want to run every day/consecutive days. I did a year (roughly) doing 3 runs a week (Tues, Thurs, 1x weekend), then added another one for a good few months (Tues, Thurs, 2x weekend), then went up to 5 a week by running on my midweek rest day and have now been streaking since Thanksgiving. But still listen to your body, if you need a rest day take one, if you are getting tired but desperately want to run to continue a streak go out for 10 minutes or so. This morning was an effort, getting out of bed was hard, it was dark which means pounding the pavements again (I long for the lighter mornings so I can get off road safely) and I had to be back by about 7.30 so I could get daughter to college on time so I only ran 4k (yeah, 'only'! It was weigh in at the gym this morning, I lost ¼lb over the Christmas period, the coach asked me was I addicted to running and I had to confess I was, or more likely addicted to the amount of food that running lets me eat, not sure which one).
Thanks! its reassuring to hear that it takes time to build up to even more regular running. I'm really getting into varying the distance I run as well as cross training. I have rediscovered my love of the elliptical trainer!! I agree the dark, cold and wet mornings are really difficult to run on. I'm really looking forward to running into the Dawn.
I really appreciate the advice from the squad on the this site its always kind and informative.
Just 4 for me. 2 x 5km and then two shorter ones due to shin splints...arghhhh.
I also want to know how 17 runs get squeezed into. 13 days Superhuman effort
Well, I was streaking but that all stopped on New Year's Day and I didn't run at all until yesterday! I reckon that takes me up to 11 runs but they were all only short, other than Christmas Day's which was a bit longer. The snow arrived on Boxing Day and was very pretty but soon turned to thick ice which was very tricky to run on so I had to go down to the park and run on the snowy field, which was extremely difficult and I couldn't have run any further than a mile, to be honest. So I have enjoyed my break of 5 days without running, but I got out there again yesterday and had a fab run
Only 5 runs for me, and they were hard work but I really enjoyed the break and am raring to go now.
Blimey! I feel like a right wimp! I managed 2 over the period, partly because my usual routes were pretty treacherous, and partly because I suffered from a mince pie overdose... I did manage to get out on NYD, though, for 5.25 k.
7 for me, and lovely they all were too.... Anywhere between 5 and 7.5k.
Happy with that!
Only 4, but I'm trying much harder as a New Years resolution.
I managed 7, all but one were more than 6k, pleased with that. Walked on the other days, about 4k each.
Still managed to put on a few pounds.
It was good to run in daylight on a weekday.
12. Rested on 2 days. It was great to be off and a chance to run in daylight again
I didn't do any runs but I was recovering from a concussion not an excuse but my balance still ain't great,
I'm sorry for letting the team down
Siobhan x
Wow!you all did so well. I am back to park run tomorrow, no running for ages see how I go.
Lucky 6. Only just got my mojo back in December and been consistent past 2 weeks.
Only 2. Had a 3 day/night Indian wedding and medicals. No strength or time. Did mange to get a friend to sign up for C25k, so reconciled.
5 small + 1 longer run. Had to tweak my days to accommodate a very cold spell.
But that is still 20k more than last year!
I did six but missed a few due to ice. Got back out there with ice grippers on. Yay!
actually would have give it zero.. but not an option!!
6 with one missed. But that's still 6 more than the same dates last year!
Only 2 but I definitely need more than a day between runs
6 runs and a swim.
7 for me!! -- and it has been stinking hot and humid!!
My 3 were quite enough to keep me grounded and banish festive sluggishness - yay
Very surprised when I counted them up as I managed 9! Helped not having people over for Christmas.
Since graduating 2 months ago I run 3 to 4 times a week, mixed with cardio & weight training I keep myself busy!!!! I have even been asked to play Vets Football again....
