Hi applying for pip can be hard because it's not what illness you have its what your illness affects you doing daily if you can manage daily tasks as normal youmost likely won't get pip from what I know its not your illness that helps you qualify its what you can't do your daily tasks ..

Hi as the previous person said it can be hard and stressful. You will need to know how to answer the questions before you begin. They have benefits adviser on here. Fight back 4 Justice is a good website. Benefits 4 work is another good one. I use these. Welfare rights. CAB. Make sure you are well aware of the wording you use. Such as what its like for you on your worse day. If you do something then it takes you twice as long, you have to rest after, you are unable to do anything else that day. If you drive be careful how you word this as to them if you can drive no matter when, how little, you can obviously do everything else. Get as much information as you can from GP, consultants and also people who know you and are willing to support your claim via letter saying how your illnesses affect you.

Make sure you apply before you turn retirement age as you can't apply after.

There is no reason why you should not get it. I have Fibro and applied at 64 and got it for 10 years, so did my husband.

Good luck hope all goes well.

Lillylilac has written very good advice, try to get help filling the form because they are quite daunting. It's all about how your conditions affect you on your worse days. Also you must apply before you reach state pension age because after that you can only apply for attendance allowance not PIP and PIP pays more, it covers day to day living and mobility whereas Attendance Allowance only covers they day to day living, no mobility! I have received PIP for quite a few years, I'm 69 and I get the standard rate for both. Good luck.
