YIPPEE my therapist came today with the Foot up braces i have been out giving them a trail run walked around Tesco no trolley or stick i find i am walking with a different style my left a always walked leaning outwards which caused me to have hard skin forming which was uincomfortable. i am putting down & can feel the ball of my foot touching the ground. Dont feel any pressure on my ankles at all. Also i find that i'm not looking down at my feet as i walk. It's early days i expect much improvement in day to come. These are a blessing. Highly recommend them. All i need are bionic hands as CMT makes them weak. Never mind i am thankful. Thank you Laura for the speed in providing the Foot Up so quickly.

Hooray, Chuckles !

I'm really pleased you have found success. I hope the foot-ups will continue to help and improve your gait. It must be an amazing sensation to be able to walk without constantly looking down and planning each step.

If you ever track down a bionic device that helps our CMT hands, let me know !

Hi just wondered what this foot up is.?at first I thought it was something to wear in bed to keep the feet supported as it can be painful when in bed.

Follow the link. I wear one on both feet. They definitely make me more stable but I still have to look down when I walk but help stops tripping.

I wear them on both legs, the problem CMT affects my hands also i cannot grip or hold well i cant pull the foot clip to connect to the clip on my ankle brace. I am going to my engineering comp i worked for to get a gadget i have designed to hook with a hand grip so i can hold which will help me pull the two clips together. Hopeful it will work.

I have use these for years, love em! I leave mine clipped all the time; l just slip my shoes on with foot up already clipped, then place my foot on floor to make it at 45 degrees from my leg and then wrap straps around my lower leg. And away I go..to remove I release velcro wrap and slip shoe and brace off all in one.
