No idea what that acronym is - or that number.

NHS app? What app is that?

Take care its not a scam text message. I've had NHS messages and I have not even got an app.

Maybe someone here will know - or is a super sleuth and will find out.

A word of caution: take great care in assuming you know what an acronym means. In medicine there are lots - and many context sensitive, in other words more than one meaning.

So true Jig,

I belong to a couple of groups within my local hospital and I remember sitting in a zoom meeting that was littered with acronyms, and I hadn’t a clue what they were talking about. When I checked there are over a thousand NHS acronyms and some duplicates with totally different meanings.

PS just checking ( call me Miss Marple ) and Bristol Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic pops up ! So wilcop it makes sense.

Sad that it its also a source of patient harm - as one would imagine. Hence in our self advoacy role - always question - always challenge. All respectable health professionals will be pleased if a patient they are caring for puts them right!

Some how I am not so sure that some of the people that have received my ‘ comments ‘ would agree, but I am obviously too logical and am used to getting things done, and not saying it’s not my responsibility. That was the reply I got to a new in-house hospital app when I pointed out there are numerous areas where there is no mobile connectivity.

Not sure what the number was indicative of , but the following site came up when I googled

nbt.nhs.uk/severn-pathology...

Was the number in sequence as you have written it, or was it relation to the bloodwork?

If it was as you have written, it may be the number allocated to the specific report?

I am very impressed you found that!!

I did Google it, I found myself on other continents. Heyho!

Bristol clearly have there own acronym lexicon. My wife's nephew is a consultant there, I'll test him on it!

Wilcop will know if it is their hospital of care, although we don't encourage members to give there precise locations!
